FISU Oceania’s strategic plan is bold, visionary and ambitious.
In 2025, our Executive Committee streamlined and updated our strategic plan to ensure that it’s focus was ambitious but also achievable. An action plan underpins the work we will do to achieve our strategic outcomes.
“Our strategic progress in 2025 has been based on targeted and incremental action and our work has focused on supporting active engagement with our members, prioritising initiatives that benefit Pacific nations and strengthening awareness and understanding of FISU programs, particularly Healthy Campus. We have also actively contributed to the development of the new FISU Global Strategy, ensuring that the operating realities of small-island and volunteer-led federations are recognised and considered in global planning”, says FISU Oceania President Mr David Schmude.
“By supporting our members and developing scalable approaches, we are confident that we will strengthen communication and visibility of university sport across the region in 2026” concludes Mr Schmude.
With 12 National University Sport Federations and more than 100 university campuses across the Pacific, the work of FISU Oceania must cover a region that is vast and diverse. Whilst we are a small not for profit, volunteer led sports federation our team are committed to working in the region to further advance the impact of university sport on sport and university communities.
