The University of Guam (UOG) has set their varsity sport schedule for the upcoming fall semester. A number of sport tryouts will be held during the month of August with students able to participate in a number of sports.
“We were so happy that we could return to the athletics fields and courts in the spring of 2022, and now in the fall, we plan on expanding the varsity sports program to seven sports programs – with the aim of increasing this to 10 sports programs in the coming years”, said UOG Athletic Director Doug Palmer.
The 2022-2023 varsity sports schedule will include:
- Baseball
- Women’s basketball
- Men’s basketball
- Women’s volleyball (beach and indoor)
- Men’s soccer
- Women’s soccer
- Women’s rugby
“The sports this year will be the biggest varsity sports program since the athletics program was introduced in 2016. In 2023-2024 we hope to further add the sports of men’s rugby, men’s volleyball, women’s softball as well as cross country”, adds Mr Palmer.
The women’s basketball program will commence early September with other sports having their games commence by late September/early October.
