The Fiji Inter Tertiary Games are held to coincide with International Day of University Sport in September and teams across universities in Fiji are getting ready for the competition. After a two year absence due to the pandemic, Fiji University Sports Association are excited to once again hold the event.
Fiji National University (FNU) has 10 campuses across Fiji and teams have been competing head to head in the sports of Badminton, Basketball, Futsal, Netball, Rugby, Soccer and Volleyball over the months of June/July, to qualify for the opportunity to represent their university. The winners and runners up of these inter campus competitions will be chosen to represent FNU at the Fiji Inter Tertiary Games.
The inter campus Games not only enable students from FNU campuses to play sport, it enables the students to connect and engage with other students from different campuses and to promote how sport contributes to student life and positive health. In fact, these inter campus Games are a key activity in FNU’s commitment to student health and wellbeing.
“FNU inter campus games have always been our pathway to the Fiji Inter Tertiary Games”, states FNU sports officer Mr Namosimalua. “After not being able to hold regular inter campus sport for some time due to the pandemic, students are eager to reconnect and engage with campus sport and to be part of a team once again”.
FNU are the defending champions of the Fiji Inter Tertiary Games.
The Fiji Inter Tertiary Games will be held from 22-24 September 2022 in Suva Fiji.
