NUS students represent Samoa in Rugby 7s

Two former National University of Samoa students are now playing on the world stage for the Manu Samoa 7s team.  

Silao Nonu
 has represented Manu Samoa 7s in 2016 and also in 2017. He had a short stint as a student at Samoa’s National University in 2013 prior to pursuing a professional rugby contract with the Wellington Rugby Club.  

Francis Ieremia - 24 years old, plays lock for Manu Samoa 7s. Francis was a student at the National University of Samoa up until 2014 when he decided to pursue a full time career in rugby. Prior to joining the Manu Samoa 7s team, Francis played for the Samoa A rugby team in 2014 and 2015, and he also got selected into the wider training squad for Samoa’s Manu Samoa 15s team in 2015. He has played on most 7s tournaments around the world in 2016 and has participated in some of the tournaments in 2017, having scored 4 tries in total in the 2017 HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.
