USP Students Prepare for Uni Games & Fundraise for Cyclone Winston Victims

University of the South Pacific Alafua Campus Students Prep for Uni-Games & Fundraise for Cyclone Winston victims in Fiji – April 8th & 9th, 2016
The USP Alafua Student Association and the USP Alafua Campus Life office worked tirelessly for 2 days on April 8 and 9 to provide Alafua students with an opportunity to; meet people, make lasting friendships and promote healthy living. This 2 day sporting competition was also a preparation for the University Games which will be held in September of this year.

USP Alafua students were randomly put into 4 different colored teams with the blue team winning the 2 day sporting competition that comprised of; netball, soccer, touch rugby and volleyball. More than two hundred and fifty students participated in the 2 day event and students commented on how it was very helpful to take time to exercise and relax.

In addition to sports and fun, the Alafua student association also did a sausage sizzle fundraiser in support of the aid towards those that suffered from Tropical Cyclone Winston in Fiji, and the students managed to raise more than a hundred dollars from this activity.
