LAUSANNE - After the inaugural edition of the FISU Young Reporters’ Programme in 2011 at the 26thSummer Universiade in Shenzhen, China and the successful editions during the Universiades in Kazan (RUS/2013) and Gwangju (KOR/2015), FISU will host its U-Media programme for the 4th time at the 29th Summer Universiade in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei in 2017.
FISU launched this journalism education programme to provide young (sport) journalists with a unique training experience during FISU’s major multi-sport event, the Summer Universiade.
The Young Reporters’ Programme aims to include 21 to 25-year-old students or recent graduates in journalism/communications from the five continents. The FISU Media & Communication Committee chaired by Verena Burk will select 12 candidates from Africa (2), America (4), Asia (2), Oceania (2) and Europe (2) and bring them right into the middle of the action during the period of the Universiade, with full access to the competition venues and MPC. They will be joined by their peers from Chinese Taipei.
