New Zealand's sole 2015 Winter Universiade competitor, Alexandra "Allie" Rout, prepares to take on the world when part two of the Games commence in Granada from February 4 - 14.

After giving up the sport she loved at 16 (she started at the age of 5) to concentrate on medical school, the 21 year will compete in the figure skating competition. Now a fourth year medical student at the University of Auckland, Allie proved she is still a force to be reckoned with after winning the 2014 New Zealand national championships where she gained international selection and chose the 2015 Winter Universiade as her international competition to attend.

Good luck from everyone at FISU Oceania!
