Celebrating the power of sport to drive social change will be at the fore of this year’s International Day of Sport for Development and Peace in Papua New Guinea on 6 April.
High Performance Sport Papua New Guinea (HPS PNG) will be hosting a day of sporting activities to get students outdoors.
HPS PNG have to date invited up to 10 tertiary institutions across the country.
Event Coordinator and HPS PNG Talent Pathway Coordinator Cornelius Papau said the objective of the event is to celebrate the power of sport to drive social change, community development and to foster peace and understanding.
“As a partner with the PNG University Sports Association in nurturing and growing university sporting activities around Papua New Guinea, we are excited to fully support the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and Australian University Sport (AUS) in delivering its campaigns through UNESCO and UN proclaimed events,” Papau said.
