Cook Island athlete secures spot in Olympic Team

Cook Island swimmer, Wesley Roberts, has just been selected in the swimming team for the Rio Olympics.

A University of Wollongong Medical Radiation Physics student recently received the good news from FINA on approval of his selection for Rio.

The selection is well deserved after Roberts won Cook Island's first ever gold medal at an international event when he took out first place in the men's 1500m long course freestyle event with a time of 15 minutes 42.27 seconds at the 11th Oceania Swimming Championships in Suva, Fiji on Monday 20th June.
