|Auckland University of Technology score gold at the Southern University Games
After a stellar week of competition AUT university won gold in 2 codes, and all teams medalled.
In a hard fought final against Deakin University, the women's hockey final ended in a penalty shoot out with AUT keeping the competition scoreless while then scoring on the final stroke to secure the gold medal.
The AUT1 touch team continued their dominance in the competition, winning 12-2 against Monash University in the final. The AUT2 team also finished strong with a great performance taking out the Bronze medal.
The Men's volleyball also had an impressive final taking a strong Swinburne University side to five sets. Just missing out on the gold, the team put in a great effort and won the silver medal.
AUT netball came back from a hard semi against the eventual winners to beat their opposition by 10 and win Bronze.
With only five teams entered in the competition and over 10 different sports, AUT placed 5th overall - a massive achievement.
